The Aspire V3-551G-X419 15.6" Notebook Computer from Acer features a minimalist design and a midnight black finish. Measuring 1.3" thin and weighing 5.74 pounds, this Acer notebook is compact and portable. The 6-cell lithium ion battery sits flush into the chassis, which further streamlines this Acernotebook's design. It also provides up to 5 hours of battery life on a single charge (battery life may vary).
The 15.6" CineCrystal widescreen display is backlit with LED lamps, which use less power and provide better picture quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, and its 1366 x 768 native resolution is supported by a dedicated AMD Radeon HD 7670M graphics card with 2GB of GDDR3 memory. The screen also has a glossy finish, which displays vibrant color.
The system is powered by a quad-core 2.3GHz AMD A10-4600M accelerated processor. It also has 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 750GB 5400rpm hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, a multi-in-one media card reader, 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-FiBluetooth 4.0+HS, an integrated webcam and microphone. There are also built-in stereo speakers with optimized Dolby Home Theater v4 audio enhancement.
Windows 8 is the installed operating system. Windows 8 replaces the traditional Start menu with a redesigned Start screen. The Start screen features tiles, which provide notifications in real-time. Windows 8 also focuses more on cloud storage as well as apps, which can be downloaded from the Windows Store. Windows 8 provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.
